The book addresses a difficult concept in a more child-friendly and relatable way. I believe the way the book is written will intrigue children and lead them to question the character’s actions and statements as they go through each page of the book.

I love the book! Very appropriate for these times! The graphics & colors are perfect! It’s also written with appropriate language for children ages 8-12-years old.

Kelly, Parent of 9-year-old and 11-year-old child

The book is a tool that all parents should have in their arsenal to start a meaningful conversation on leadership and the value of all lives, even those lives that don’t look like you!

Today Was the Not the Same, is very relevant, inspiring, and encouraging. Even though the central character is a young girl, I could easily picture myself as a young boy in this story, especially growing up in Birmingham, watching Eyes on the Prize on PBS and my parents instilling the history of our community and things that they witnessed growing up.
